Like many people, I was delighted by the opening of the Love Yarn Madrid 2026. I went two of the three fair days and I wasn't disappointed.
Despite the long queue, it didn't take too much time to get in. After the security check, I was given a map of the fair with the location of each one of the stands, which made the visit much easier. The atmosphere was awesome, the walls were decorated with different crochet pieces that some of the attendants knitted during the previous month. However, what makes the fair stand out is its huge variety of stands where you can find everything you've ever dreamt: hand dyed yarn from different parts of the country and even from abroad, accessories for your handcrafted projects etc. Another special feature is the food court outside the fair with food trucks that offered different kinds of food apart from a marvelous space to eat in enjoying the fresh air and sharing moments with other knitters. Moreover, there was the possibility to check out some of the workshops offered, all of them high valued, where you could learn or improve knitting techniques
On the flip side, the tickets were quite expensive and if you wanted to attend more than one workshop in different days you had to pay the tickets for those days as well. Also, there were no space to just wait until your workshop start since the seats were reserved for people that had bought a meal. In my view, this was a drawback and some space should be prepared to just be there in order to encourage people to be part of this wonderful community
Overall, the fair is a place to find unique yarns and to meet some of the most famous instagramers and also, learn from them. Although there is some room for improvement, I strongly recommend visiting it
