In Japan, it's lemon season, so I bought some organic ones to make some homemade syrup. I make this every year because I prefer taking vitamins in a natural way.
Lemons contain vitamin C, citric acid, fiber, flavonoid, potassium, and magnesium. These nutrients help recover from fatigue, keep the skin healthy, boost the immune system, and more. I make hot lemon drink in winter using the syrup and drink the syrup with sparkling water in summer. I love both the aroma and the taste. It makes me feel very refreshed.
Making lemon syrup is very easy. First, slice some lemons.
Then put them into a clean jar and add some rock sugar. That's it. While waiting, the lemon juice slowly comes out and starts melting with sugar.
I'd love to use the lemon peels for baking, but my blender isn't powerful enough to grind them finely, so I always throw them away. I really want the Vitamix blender, which can make perfect lemon peels for baking.
