The fig season is already over, but about two months ago, I found some organic figs for making jam at a farmer's market. I'd never made the jam before, and it was my first time. When I found them, I was very excited!
There were many varieties of flower pots as well.
The package said they were for jam, but I ate one because I wanted to know how sweet it was. It was very juicy and tasty.
First, I divided the figs into four parts.
Then, I placed them into an enamel pot.
Since the figs were already quite sweet, I added brown sugar equal to 40 percent of the figs’ weight and left it for one hour.
The sugar melted with the figs.
I simmered the mixture for a while.
Then, I added some lemon juice and kept simmering.
The mixture became smooth and creamy, so it was ready to eat!
The picture shows my homemade fig jam served with a slice of my homemade pound cake and my homemade yogurt.
