It was happened about eight years ago. I was skating with my daughters at the small ice hockey rink. A the one half of the rink were children with their parents, at the another one - men were playing hockey. They didn't have any special equipment, their skating was not so good, but that game was very emotional. I decided to join the action. I asked for the stick and tried to play as a defender. I noticed that I didn't have enough skills to play the main role, but I liked the game.
Some monthes later I bought the full ice hockey stuff and joined the amateur team, which had trainings in my local district. It became my new hobby. Nowadays we train two times a week and take a part in Moscow night hockey league.
I am fourty years old. For sure, I will never be a professional player like Alex Ovechkin. However, ice hockey helps me to avoid stress. What's more, I glad to see a progress about my ice hockey skills. Play hockey! It's not only Canada's game :)
Hi @Brass_nn! This is great! Congrats on finding a new hobby and writing about it so naturally!
As a fellow ice skater, I enjoyed reading this—great job!
