Introduction
The aim of this report is to provide information regarding people's attitude towards public health campaigns in Orenburg, Russia. Because of the peculiarities of the local environment — the city is located on a prairie — it's extremely important to help locals to stay healthy.
National Programs
For many years the local health department has been promoting various health outreach programs that enable people to get free check-ups. One can see many advertisements for clinics on wheels throughout the city and on TV, radio and newspapers — especially during the hay fever season. At these clinics, anyone can check their blood pressure, get fast results for blood tests or have a thorough analysis done of their birthmarks to screen for any sign of skin cancer, among other procedures. If the doctors suspect a serious disease, they'll set up an appointment with a general physician.
Public Opinion
Lots of people love these temporary medical stations, judging from the long queues when the clinics start showing up. On the local news, people share their positive experiences, emphasizing the simplicity of the program. They mention that it makes them more aware of their health and makes them want to stick to healthy lifestyle.
Conclusion
I would recommend that the government expand their health programs and add a variety of sports events like group runs, biking, and hiking to draw more people's attention and encourage them live a cleaner life.
