As human being, we tend to take things we have for granted. We are always chasing more and more, forgetting how blessed we are to enjoy all the comfort we already have. I do not know if this is due to the fact that we are ambitious creatures by design? Anyway, it is essential for us to be able to take a step back, reflect and be aware about how lucky we are in fact. This is the ideal situation, however very often we need to go through a difficult situation to make this observation. Indeed, we rarely do it when everything is alright, and that is a pity!

For instance, when I came back home today, I was surprised to find no runing water! The neighbor told me that there was a small issue with the distribution network and that the city workers would not fix it before tomorrow! The resulat was that I was unable to do my sport, take a shower nor even prepare my dinner, the kind of simple things that we did usually without acknowledging how fortunate we are to have acces to this vital stuff! We need to be deprived from it to genuinely feel how privileged we are, and this is totaly insane.

This happens also when for exemple, we lose a family member or a close friend. All of a sudden, we become aware about the blessing of being alive. We often take new resolutions, we decide to eat better, to work out and do exercice on a regular basis and get rid of all the bad habbits we have, in order to improve our condition and be healthier. Moreover, if we happen lets say to be far from our loved ones for x or y reason, we start to miss them and we suddenly realize how much we actually love them and how important they are for us! Odds are that we decide that once together again, we would tell them what we have inside the heart.

This is amazing, isn't it? Well, it would be if only we could keep those observations constantly in mind. Unfortunately, it is rarely the case! Indeed, we tend to forget this resolutions and go back to our normal life as if nothing happened. Once you are with your familly that you have missed so much, it is a matter of days before you find yourself having arguments with them for stupid and insignificant reasons (at least in my case)! Also, rare are those who would manage to sustain the good diet and live style they have undertaken and be consistante with they daily workout session they have set. Even me, will probably resume taking long shower once the problem in my city will be resolved, without thinking about those who have no runing water!

That why this is has become my biggest challenge! Remember to always be grateful, to say thank you every morning I open my eyes and I am fortunate enough to breath, be with the people I love, have access to the most vital ressources. I am considering starting meditation. I heard that it could be a good solution for that purpose and so many other aspects of my life as well. If you have some other tips to share with me, I am more than interested 😉
