Japanese Giant Dragonfly

Are there mosquitos in your countries? How do you deal with them? Maybe, you say that you use spray or mosquito coils. These are also commonly used in Japan as well.

Today, I'd love to share a very interesting information with you. A friend of mine told me that dragonflies are naturally enemies against mosquitos. So, when you hang a fake one nearby your windows, even though they're wide open, mosquitos tend to stay away because they are afraid of dragonflies. This means the fake dragonfly can become an insect repellent. In Japan we have a giant dragonfly called おにやんま oniyanma. It's the largest carnivore insect here, with a powerful jar that can eat all kinds of bugs. Then, he introduced the item called オニヤンマ君 oniyanma-kun, which we can buy at shops. He said it's been working well.

Since I was very curious about the product, I looked it up online. Then, I came across some video clips. Some people say it works, while others say it doesn't. So, I’ve decided to buy one and see for myself.

If you are curious about oniyanma-kun, you can see here.
