In the last couple of months I've been pretty busy writing my PhD thesis, so I didn't have much time to learn any languages. I only managed to get some input through YouTube videos and the occasional movie. Thus, this week I had the intention of making up the time away by taking the whole day to study.
I waked up and started doing some exercises in the book "English Grammar Drills", then I watched a handful of videos about grammar and pronunciation. After lunch, I read an Italian comic book that was about 100 pages long and then I practiced speaking English in the app "Elsa speak". I did that until approximately 15:30 and went to lift some weights (while listening to an audiobook in English). After a shower I wrote a post here in Journaly (in English) and after that I practiced speaking with an AI for about an hour (40 min English and 20 min German). By early evening I was watching a YouTube video in Italian (Italy has a lot of great youtubers in multiple genres of content). Then, to finish the day I read a book in my native language for about a hour.
I thought that the day went pretty well, I didn't do too much of anything, I did multiple types of activities and learned a lot. But my brain didn't agreed with me. I slept around midnight and by 4 o'clock I was up, I kept dreaming about all the things that I studied during the day and couldn't sleep again. By 6:30 I was on the road with my bike to cycle 40km. Now I'll take it easy for a little bit until my brain adjust.
