Dream of strange lands

Where would you ideally live?

It's hard for me to be reasonable with this question. I've never been in the abroad. So my opinion and choices are based mostly on mass media and cultural aspects I know. It might not be the most accurate way, but it's the only one I have.

Europe has always seemed like something sacred to me. It's the cradle of western civilization, something more than just a place with high standards of living. I wonder when I will walk down Europeans streets then I will walk not just through space but through dimensions of time and history. I've been living in a young city, built during the USSR period.  Half the city is industrial area and other half is space of commyblocks, it looks so sadly. And you know, I live here and watch people in other countries, people like me, surrounded by cool stuff. So that's the first important point. I can't compare myself with non-caucasian people. I don't have any xenophobic feeling or anything like that, but Asian or Eastern cultures just aren't for me. That's why I don't consider those places for living. That's cool, I guess, but only for travel.

So the US, Australia, and Canada are good choices too, but I don't know, they are so far away. I guess I'm afraid that if I will go to those parts of the world, I won't have chance to come back. Maybe I'll more confident once I'm sure about my decision to leave. So Canada looks like cool and paceful place, so that's nice. In fact, French language is widely spoken in Quabec, and I really like french speech sound. Also the Canadian climate is similar to Russia's, which I actually enjoy, I like snow and long, rainy autumn. So it's not as expansive as the US. There are many animation studios in Canada. I really want to pursue animation as a professional career. So, I think that Canada is good option too, not just Europe.

What about Latin America, so it sound interesting. I really like psyhodelic culture. Those places are probably the most psyhodelic areas in the world. But I don't much know about it, I can't really imagine daily routine in those countries. But maybe why not. They don't have strict visa rules for Russians and that's not expensive, except for the tickets.

It's Europe. I don't know why but I feel that the Benelux countries are the core of European culture. That's why I want to visit them exactly. But Netherlands seems the most popular and maybe a bit overrated. Luxembourg feels almost unreachable. Belgium seems like the best choice. Another feature is the French language in there.

Everything I write is just my imagination. I know nothing about what life is really like in these countries. But I don't think it's going to be worst than what I've seen lol.

My top tier is France. I like french cinema and my favorite actors are French. I admire french social politics, they are brave people, always ready to kick out those government assholes hah. I love bande dessinee and school of french animation. My impossible dream is to work at Ankama studio (you can Google it, may be you have seen one of their projects). It's sad, that I realized this so late. A tiny apartment in Lille, a careera at one of famous Europe's studio, an EU passport, coffee and croissants in the morning... it's not too much to wish for lol. I know it's just a dream and might sound silly, but thinking about it helps me relax. It calms me.

I'm too old and wasted my the best years to stupid deals, I know, I know... But I hope what I'll be able to catch a bit of happiness. Maybe that enough for now.
