In January, I only worked six hours a day as contracted, which was really great. However, not so in February. This was due to a scheduling error made by my boss. When he said, "I believe you can do eight hours of work in six hours," I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. I had two deadlines for launching websites at the end of the month and did a lot of overtime. At the peak, I was working eleven hours a day! On top of that, we were hit by two severe cold waves. I couldn't shovel the snow because that would've zapped my energy to do other things, so I left my car buried in snow and didn't go out for as long as a week. It was incredibly stressful.
My boss apologized, but it wasn't enough. I'm going to talk to my boss to ensure that we never have a repeat of this.
