I recently was diagnosed with cancer and wrote the following to vent about the invader. (English is my native language, so I’m not seeking corrections or edits.)
You came in the night,
an uninvited guest,
storming the sacred temple
that once gave life,
embraced pleasure,
nurtured hope,
and received the seeds of love.
How dare you,
despicable invader?
Do you seek to steal my breath,
to silence the dreams I hold?
Don’t you know
I long to sing, to dance, to love?
To breathe in the sweet air,
to taste the kiss of my love,
feel his arms as they cradle me,
hear his voice,
warm against my heart?
Leave me be.
Go now, I beg you.
I’m fighting for my life.
I won’t let you take it.
I will hate you with every ounce of strength,
if you make my daughter cry,
if you rob her of the warmth of my arms,
the comfort of my love.
If you leave her alone
in unbearable grief,
yearning for a mother's touch.
¡Bravo! Impresionante, @SEQ77
Thank you,@druida. I’m grateful for the Journaly family, which gives me something positive to focus on during my recuperation.
Good luck! Staying positive is very important. Praying for you from Japan.
I understand the difficulties you are experiencing as a cancer survivor. I may not be good enough at writing in English to be able to encourage you, but I sincerely hope you get over it!
Thank you, @yumiyumayume and @Akiko, for your well wishes. I’ll definitely do my all to remain positive. A plus is that I can follow your uplifting posts.
