A Christmas Gratitude to the EU from Hungary

I was thinking the other day that as a Hungarian citizen, most of my education was probably paid for by other EU members like Germany and the Netherlands, including my university education and the three Erasmus programs I attended in Portugal, Spain, and the UK.

I know my nation is not the most well-behaved, to say the least, and it must be difficult to cope with the idea that much of your tax money ends up in the pockets of random Eastern European politicians. But I want to express my gratitude to the EU and its members (even Germany—despite my dislike for your language, haha) for supporting and changing my life and the lives of many others. I understand how challenging it must be, but your efforts truly change and improve lives.

Merry Christmas!
