Quite a few guitarists treat their guitar like a lover. When you play the guitar, you hold it tight. It's portable, and you can go anywhere with it. That's how it differs from a piano, which I learned as a child.
According to a friend of mine, one guitarist said he was turned on when someone else played his guitar because he felt as if his guitar cheated on him. It was foolish and funny, but I kind of got him.

まさにこの話を聞いたとき、私は自分のギターが he なのか she なのかを考えてみたんですが、分からなかったです。そこが私のギターの良さだとも思いました。
たぶん they かな、とも思ったんだけど、物ではなく人だというニュアンスが薄いなぁ :( 日本語だと「この子」とか言えそうだけど、子どもじゃないかもしれないし、「こいつ」というと奏でる曲やスタイルが限られそうな気もするし。おもしろいね!
