Do you like figs? I absolutely love them!! About six months ago, I ordered a fig bush online, and it finally arrived last week.
When I opened the cardboard box, I was a bit surprised to see that the bush had no leaves. I was slightly concerned about its condition, but I followed the instructions that came with it. It said to soak the root into water over for two hours before planting it.
After that, I chose the sunniest spot in our yard and planted it there. Since it's still quite young, I don' think it'll produce fruit next year.
Even so, I'm already thrilled to take care of it. I'd love to share my fig bush’s growth here. I really look forward to harvesting lots of fruit in three years!

I think you will be very happy with the fig tree, Yumi. In Spain, there is a saying ‘Estás en la higuera’ (You are in the fig tree) which means that you are ‘absent’, that you are absorbed in your thoughts or oblivious to what is going on around you.
@druida Thank you so much for teaching the saying. It's very interesting! Are figs popular in Spain?
Yes, Yumi, the fig tree plays a very important role in Spanish gastronomy, as figs are used in jams, desserts and traditional dishes.
Thank you for the replay! It's very interesting. Same here. When I asked the same question to my American friend, he said he's never eaten them before.
As a curious thing, I will tell you Yumi, that traditionally, in Spain, the sap of the fig tree was used for the treatment of warts and calluses.
That's very interesting! Thank you for sharing!! I didn't know that fig trees are such useful.
