I have a question? (English)

by

These past few days, I've been surfing on the net a lot and I've gotten used to seeing different writing styles. At times, I'm wondering if everything that is written on the net is correct.

I kind of found myself doubting my own English because of the way some things or expressions are being used in different contexts.

The question that I'll ask may or may not be simple 🤔 In my case, I'm confused and I'm wondering if it doesn't have a different meaning.

Here it is :

"Have you ever given someone (some) flowers to express your feelings?"

VS

" Have you ever given (some) flowers to someone to express your feelings?"

I've heard that sometimes when someone gives someone flowers, it can also mean that you're flattering them. Slang, maybe?

Oh and sometimes "some" is optional in some sentences.

Thank you for your help ✌️
