Raspberries

In Japan, we don't see raspberries at supermarkets. So, if we want to eat them, we have to grow them ourselves. I've been cultivating two of raspberry bushes. One is two years old, and the other one is one year old. Since both are still too young to bear fruit, I wasn't expecting much. However, thanks to the roses we had lots of bees visiting in our garden this year. To my surprise, two of my raspberry bushes ended up bearing fruit!

Every morning, I can harvest about a handful of raspberries, and it makes me feel so happy. Although I could eat them fresh, I've been storing them in my freezer because I want to make jam with them. Fortunately, blueberry bushes are also bearing fruit, as well as one of blackberry bushes! This year, I can make mixed jam with raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. I'm really looking forward to it.
