It's been a long time that I don’t write on Journaly. In all this time I kept studying English in discontinuous way and never writing it, but I recently joined a group for pen palling, and now I exchange letters in English language with three women: one in U S, one in UK and one in Finland. It is a good exercise and a great way to make new friends.
When I attended Journaly, there were the “Multilingual Book Club”, in which all the participants were reading the same book at the same time: are they no longer organized? Anyway, today I’ll start to read a new English book. It's "Devil in Ohio" by Daria Polatin. I already watched the TV series on Netflix, which I loved for how the plot is structured and for the characterization of the characters. The same Daria Polatin is the screenwriter of the series, so I have high expectations on the book.
Welcome back!
Yay, I'm glad you are posting! You've helped me a lot in Italian and I'm excited to return the favor!
@CloudyDe @KatyaBarta Thank you!
Thank you for your corrections on my blog post. I can’t add much to the corrections you’ve already received here except the comment about “pen palling” because the advice everyone has already given has been great. Multilingual Book Club sounds amazing! I only joined Journaly a few days ago and I really hope this is still offered. My Italian is almost at the stage where I might be able to read a simple novel and the book club is a great idea.
Thanks @Sto-Imparando. Yes, the Multilingual Book Club was very nice. All participants read the same book (or one of their choice), in their target language, at the same time. But I fear that it hasn't been done for a few years.
