I went to clam digging with my husband and his parents. This is one of the famous activities in Washington state.
Before going to clam digging, you need to buy a license. You can buy it at the customer service in the grocery store. It costs about $17 and it's valid for a year. You can take 15 clams with you and always have to get it when you dig.
In the beginning, I got 3 Pacific razor clams(I'm linking the wiki page about this clam but it looks kinda gross so I'm warning you...) quickly so I thought it would be going to be easy. I was wrong. After that, I couldn't find any. I was paying attention to the ground when I was digging, and the water caught me. My feet were in the rain boots pool for a half hour -.- I was kinda miserable. 2 strangers came to me, and they gave me 3 clams for some reason. They said something but I couldn't understand so they decided to put their clams in my bucket and left...
Anyway, being able to find a clam by myself was still fun :)
Sounds fun!
Nice post! Sounds like a fun day. One correction. You should say “I thought it was going to be easy”.
