The diagram illustrates what the Central Library looked like two decades ago and the new face for now.
20 years ago, there were different three rooms in three corners, except the southeast part, which was the inquiry desk for tickets, book returns, etc. CDs, videos, computer games, and Children's books were collected in the northwest and northeast corners prospectively. And the reading room was set in the remaining corner where you could read newspapers and magazines. There were tables and chairs in the hall, which divided the hall into two parts. The west part stored adult fiction books, and another part stored adult non-fiction books.
Nowadays, the overall construction is quite similar to before. However, each area's function changed. The previous inquiry desk has been replaced by a cafe. The reading room becomes a computer room and the room for children's books is turned into a lecture room, the size of these two rooms are as big as before. The northwest room has been expanded, containing children's fiction books and two sofas. Some storytelling events are held in this room. In the hall, all desks and chairs are removed. The west side collects all reference books. The eastern side is more multifunctioning, you can find adult fiction books, an information desk, and some self-service machines there.
