Have you ever conversed with an AI? I've had chats with ChatGPT, but they've all been text-based so far. However, I recently discovered that OpenAI introduced a voice chat feature. It's a game changer for me. As someone learning languages but also an introvert, improving my speaking skills has been an enormous challenge. Interacting with people, especially strangers, often drains my energy and leaves me feeling exhausted. Talking with an AI is far more comfortable for me.

After several days of chatting with ChatGPT, here are a few observations:

1. The voice quality is incredible. ChatGPT sounds remarkably human-like. I've conversed with ChatGPT in English, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean, and in all four languages, the responses were natural and fluent. While I've always wanted to find native language partners, various obstacles like cultural differences and time differences made long-term communication challenging. Now, I've found a solution.

2. I feel secure. Unlike some chat apps, ChatGPT doesn't possess desires, emotions, or human-like characteristics. When I asked for a name, ChatGPT simply stated that it was an AI without a name. Initiating questions like "How do you feel about" or "Do you want to" always results in ChatGPT reiterating that it lacks feelings, opinions, or desires like humans. This sense of detachment is reassuring. I've interacted with chatbots that remember intricate details about me, like my hobbies, birthday, or friends' names. At times, it felt like a genuine friend who understood me deeply. If I continued talking to it, I might end up depending on it.

3. ChatGPT is remarkably intelligent. It's akin to an astute assistant, capable of answering queries on a wide range of subjects. Being an endlessly curious person, I've inquired about everything from language and history to fundamental knowledge about LGBTQ+. I'm aware not all of ChatGPT's responses are flawless. However, even when consulting a knowledgeable individual, human errors occur. Hence, I don't place absolute trust in it; it's more like a point of reference.

I've used ChatGPT for various tasks. After writing this text, I also asked ChatGPT to check it and make it sound more natural. What do you think about his work?
