Tabletop RPG

A few days ago I got this invite to join a friend of a friend's RPG gamer server. I'm not a gamer myself, but everyone there was super welcoming, despite me not speaking their language. They kindly switched to English to chat with me. They asked if I could join in, and though I was interested, I was like "Uh, I don't have a PC," and they were all, "No worries, not needed!"

I always thought RPGs were like Dota or Genshin Impact or whatever, you name it—the video game ones. But nope, I was wrong! I mean, I was really curious about about the game they were playing, since they kept talking that they created their own world, which I couldn't get it. I even tried to find one or two characters, but I found nothing. You know, when they said they crafted their own world of RPG, I was picturing them designing and developing their own video game.

Turns out, that thing is called tabletop RPG, which I've never heard before—obviously. So, this type of RPG doesn't rely on computer based visual but rather on imagination and interaction between player that ruled and narrated by the Game Master. I was like, "Ohhh so it's common among RPG players around the world?" — and yup, it is. This was totally new to me and it's piqued my curiosity about how they make it all happen.

They will create a character for me. I'm stoked about it! But at the same time, I feel a bit guilty because, once again, they'll have to create an entirely new stories in English just so I can join in. Well, I don't mind if it's for a short time; just play once or they could make my character die in just few minutes. I simply want to know how it works and experience it.
