A few weeks ago, I watched a musical show on TV. That's where I first heard the song called "L'ours" by Christophe Maé and Youssou Ndour respectively a French and Senegalese singer. I really enjoyed it, especially the lyrics as well as the strong and committed message carried by the artists.

This song deals with the global warming issue. It's about a polar bear which is suffering from the rise of temperature. Indeed, the polar bear can't take off its fur therefore it can't adapt to a hot environment. Moreover, its home is in real danger, a big part of the ice is melting and the polar bear encounters difficulties to feed itself due to all of these changes.

The official clip of the song shows an alternation of polar and dry landscapes. It highlights the contrast between the loneliness of the polar bear and the overcrowded population of Africa. But both of these places are suffering from global warming consequences. This video clip includes pictures and videos executed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, a French environmentalist, activist, journalist and photographer.

The sentence that moved me the most was this one :

Un jour les seuls ours blancs
Seront les peluches de vos enfants
( One day the only polar bears will be your children's stuffed toys )
