language learning

hey, wanna talk a little bit about one thing that I've recently found. I'm a big fan of input based approach when it comes to learning some languages. So what I do a lot is when I have a dead time (walking around or going somewhere) I turn on a youtube video or a podcast in a language I'm learning (happens to be eng =) ). But what I found is that my mind is kind of unfocused and I have to try my best to bring my attention to a stream of words and parse them into meaning. About one month ago I found kind of the solution - imagining all the words in my head, it basically forces me to focus a lot deeper on the language and parse it into meaning.

Do you guys use this approach of sort of converting dead time into passive learning activity? Have you ever experienced what I described? Maybe I have an issue with my attention span, but I think it's not the case (I can focus on reading and other stuff)

Maybe some tips & tricks idk

I finally graduated from school and entered my college
