In some Asian countries, many abused women underestimate how negatively domestic violence affects their children. There was a sad story about it.
When Ken was a child, he always wanted to protect his mother, Ann, from his abusive father, David, but he was not able to. Ann did not want Ken to grow up in a single-parent family, so she sacrificed herself to maintain a “normal” family.
What Ann did not find out was that Ken’s anger to his father was getting stronger, even though David never physically abused Ken. As Ken grew up, he felt even more frustrated with David’s violence. One night, David was drunk and abusing Ann as usual. It was the last straw. Ken was furious and kept stabbing David until he stopped moving. It was too late when Ken realized his father passed away on the bloody floor.
Although Ken was guilty, none of his family blamed him on this matter. They testified that he was a good son who had intended to defend his mother. In reality, tolerating violence cannot solve problems. If Ann had ended the toxic relationship earlier, she might have prevented this tragedy from happening.
