So today I finished the ninth chapter of my book and it was about how the people around you in all aspects of your life affect your behavior. I came across three groups of people that change the manner one behaves. So they are: the close, the many, and the powerful.
The close are your family, the many are your tribe, your friends, your coworkers, and the powerful, they are those models that convey you power and success.
In childhood you follow and copy what your family performs which means their values, customs, and so on. When it comes to the tribe it’s natural in our embody survival mode to earn acceptancement into a group and the way to achieve it is through the adjusting of one's behavior in order to not disagree what is normal for the tribe, yet, if it goes against our beliefs; That means that a collective conduct changes one’s conceptions because we assume it is the correct to think in that way, following the norms of the group. Once one gains acceptancement one wants recognizement, prestige, status, in other words how to stands out from the tribe. The way to attain that goal is imitating those who already have power, that kind of models you want to be.
