Hello everyone! It's been a while since I last posted but I really couldn't think of any interesting topics. So now, instead of finishing my assignments for uni I'm here writing for my language goals once again. My plans have changed a bit since the last post I made and since it's a new year I thought it's a good time to plan once again!
German:
This is my main language and it will be until I finish the B2 level at least. I'm hoping to take the test this year, after it was cancelled for last November (which was probably positive after all, since I'll be much more prepared). I'll be continuing the lessons I'm having with my teacher for a while and then I'm planning on using the OLS feature while being on Erasmus!
The other goal I have for German is to read at least two books in the language this year!
Romanian:
That's the biggest difference from my last post. I'll be going to Romania (hopefully) for a semester to study there so I want to learn a few basic Romanian. I'll be using again the OLS program provided by the Erasmus program and I'm hoping to get to an A2 level as a first goal!
Korean:
That's probably the one I've been meaning to focus on the most for years. I want to finish the grammar lessons of Talk To Me In Korean and learn more vocabulary. The ultimate goal is to pass the TOPIK I exam but I don't know when I'll have enough time to study for that.
Mandarin Chinese:
This is the one that I don't really have a goal for and just preparing for when I actually study it. For now I'm learning the most common characters, doing a few duolingo lessons and watching a lot of tv shows!
That's it for my language goals for the beginning of 2021! I'm curious to know which languages you plan on learning this year. I need to get back to my assignments now!
I'll see you next time!
~Evelyn
Hi Evelyn, You have so many language goals! I am trying to get more fluent in just one foreign language. Maybe I'll try to read two books in German this year, like you!
Also, in English when you have two sentences connected by a conjunction (and, but) and they are complete sentences, you need to separate them with a comma.
Hi Evelyn, great list, and an awesome set of goals - you can do it! I'm right there with you with a primary German focus and some background Korean, but Chinese is too intimidating for me right now. Ich wünsche Ihnen viel Erfolg bei Ihren Zielen - 열심히 공부하면 한국어능력시험 꼭 통과 할 수 있을 거예요. 화이팅 :)
@ETH-Frau good luck with your goals! Thank you for the corrections! Commas are not my friends even in my native language hahah
@WordlyWanderer thank you for the corrections! Some of them seem obvious now that I reread the text! Good luck with your goals as well!
Hi Evelyn! I'm interested to see you are Greek - I'm learning Greek but l am still a messy A1 as I’ve been very scattered in my studies - traditional courses bore me, so I’m guilty of hopping around trying to find more interesting content. I’m impressed to see how many languages you are studying! I’m trying to keep up some French too, but can’t give it much energy daily, really - Greek takes most of what I’ve got. Good luck and happy studying!
