My first month learning Italian

language learning

Hi there!

I'm excited because I started to learn Italian some weeks ago. I've always found Italian to be a beautiful language, very melodic and cute. I also like it because it's quite a funny language too, based on the words and expressions I've seen so far.

Some people think it's not worth learning Italian because there are other languages which are "more useful" in terms of number of speakers or countries where they are spoken.

However, I wouldn't like to learn a new language just for the sake of learning it or because is widely spoken, but because I like it and feel passionate and interested in it. In my opinion, that's the easiest way to learn it for real. It helps you be consistent, and it goes without saying that consistency is key when it comes to something that takes time.

Italian is a language which is supposed to be easy for Spanish speakers like me. This is kinda true, since there are many words which are similar and pronunciation is way easier than in English, for example. However, we shouldn't be fooled: Italian can be tricky too and I found it out as soon as I started.

To sump up, learning a new language is both exciting and challenging. We just need to focus on enjoying the process and we'll be able to speak it before long.
