I am thinking about studying abroad at a master's program connected with philology and literary studies.
I already have a master's degree but in translation studies and I understand that I did not get the knowledge that I was expected to get at a master's program. Also, I understood that something that I really want to learn and research is literature.
But I have some doubts about it.
Firstly, I want to enroll in some really good and qualified universities, but my English is not perfect, especially for liberal arts where language requirements for enrolment are higher and stricter.
I wonder whether these universities have some easings for foreign students or not.
Secondly, I am working in educational system know and it is also connected with journalism; hence, I am thinking that I will have more chance if I choose programs like educational leadership or media and communications because these spheres are considered as more useful for society than art))
I will probably use the service of consulters who help students to submit documents and win scholarships, but I am afraid that they are not investigating every client’s case deeply.
So, I am trying to gather information about it, even though I have met some opportunities in journalism, I really want to study literature and philology. And I even do not know which country’s literature I have to concentrate on: whether it has to be English, German or Asian literature.
Anyway, that is just random thoughts about my future. Thank you for paying attention)
Interesting to read your thoughts, Zere! I am currently studying abroad for a Master´s in literature and there are many students in my class whose first language is not English. I´ve learned that even though the Arts are not valued enough in society, there are certainly opportunities that require the knowledge and skills that come with studying subjects like literature. I hope you get the opportunity that you are wanting!
Than you so much! Now I am more sure in my choice)
