Hello everyone,
in one of my previous posts, I mentioned that I was trying to incorporate yoga and meditation into my daily schedule and trying to establish them as a new daily habit. Now, I hear you asking "How does this go?" and I'm more than happy to answer :)
First things first, I had to find some Youtube Yoga channels to work with and I found two of them that I liked most. I also listened to podcasts and found articles about how to start meditating. I started intergrating meditation into my morning routine.
When I wake up, I make an espresso and open my journal. I write in English whatever's on my mind. Then I read a book. Now between the two of these, I squeeze in a five-minute meditation session. It's hard at the start, but I think over time I'll get used to it and do it more efficiently and, of course, for a longer period of time.
Not every morning is the same, of course. Some days my kids wake up earlier than usual and my whole morning ritual goes....away. (that wasn't what I was thinking to write, but I like to be polite :))
I've also started yoga sessions with videos about ten minutes long. Soon I realized I needed more time and jumped into 30-minute videos. Oh, that was tough! Great workouts and a lot of sweat!
I watch the same video again and again and when I feel comfortable enough and remember to do the whole flow without the need for instructions, I'll start practicing a new one. I don't know if this is the right approach, but it makes me feel more comfortable and not mentally overwhelmed. Of course, maybe I need to watch and practice some other videos in order to work my body in a different way.
