Personally, I used to love the idea of minimalism. In term of interior design, it will looks vacant, little colour used on the wall. Book's cover with minimal colour shades with simple typography is enough for looking minimalist design. However, minimalist style with no identity will look dull in every aspect.

Time to time, I learn that I am not fond of minimalism concept. I love many colours and diversity of an entity. I am quickly bored with the empty feeling from minimalism. It might be good for certain occasion. Many colours and design can lead to creative thinking. It develops the imagination.
