One prisoner had been in prison for three years. He wrote a letter telling his girlfriend that he will leave the prison soon. He would like to know she still loves him and will be able to forgive him or not. After he left from the prison, he will take the bus going home if the woman still loves him she can hang one of the yellow ribbons around the oak tree that is in front of their house and if he takes the bus past the house and doesn't see any yellow ribbon, he will not get out of the bus and left her forever and he accepts his girlfriend's consideration. So, this story became the inspiration for the song named "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree"

In the 19th century, the yellow ribbon is a symbol for memorializing waiting for someone that goes to war or lives in prison keep them separated, Many women attach the yellow ribbon to show that they still are waiting for someone or some people hang the yellow ribbon

around the house.
