I thought that I have a good passive vocabulary because I watch a lot of videos every day and easily understand it. But it was a big mistake. So what was it?

I've understood all this videos just because it was from the same fields. And also authors used daily and not stilted words. It's a simple idea but it has changed a lot for me. Now I'm going to rethink my approach to learning English.
