What's up, everyone?
I would like to make this post into a recommendation forum for podcasts.
I think this is an amazing idea to introduce non-native learners to great foreign content.
The whole idea is to create recommendations for every stage of learning: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
I'll start by recommending one of my favorites. Feel free to comment down below your favorite ones and help to increase exchanging culture.
Stuff you should know (advanced) - English
Se Regalan Dudas (advanced) - Spanish
Radio Ambulante (advanced) - Spanish
OuiPodcast (intermediate/advanced) - French
InnerFrench (intermediate) - French
Français Authentique (intermediate) - French
I would be delighted to know advanced recommendations for both English and Spanish.
See you in my next post,
Bruna
Radiolab(advanced)-English and Invisibilia(advanced)-English are two of my favourites. Thanks for this post I was thinking of posting something similar. I've been looking for a good French podcast
Thanks for sharing! I'll check these two podcasts you mentioned.
'In our time' is an all-time favourite (and it has been running as a radio show on the BBC since 1998). The content is quite advanced and academic (mostly history and philosophy, as well as some natural science). Each episode introduces the listener to a new (sometimes wildly obscure) subject by means of a pleasant, unedited 50 minute chat between the host and some expert academics. Most of the guests have a neat british accent, in case you are into that. Sometimes I love to listen to it as a sort of lullaby.
If you're learning English is essential to know 'NPR Podcast'
Thank you @laurentius. I'll check it out for sure.
@Joaquin- I literally just found a lot of NRP Podcasts on Spotify. I'm creating a playlist with NRP's episodes, so I can check it out later. Seems to be great. Thanks for sharing!
ENGLISH | Skeptoid by Brian Dunning , The Actual Fluency Podcast by Kris Broholm, The Art of Charm, The Ground Up Show with Matt D'Avella (Now Finished), The Enthusiasm Project by Tom Buck, Currently Reading by Meredith Monday Schwartz
Thanks!! I think I am gonna try some of them
PORTUGUESE | Flow Podcast, Petit Journal, Escola da Vida - Mario Sergio Cortella, Naruhodo!, Aconteceu Comigo
more PORTUGUESE | Café da manhã (Folha de S.Paulo), Mamilos, Potter Entrevista, Durma com essa, Clube do Livro
Hi Bruna! I love this idea so much!!!!!! How do you feel about taking note of resources from multiple platforms including podcasts and more? This would be so fun!! I'd recommend an audiobook on Audible called, "Learn Mandarin Chinese with Paul Noble." I've only taken one semester of Chinese at my university so my Chinese level at the start of the course was still at a beginner level and I've found this audiobook to be helpful and very effective! You might love it too!! :D
I would Also recommend "SuperHolly" and "Spanish with Vicente" Both on YouTube para Español. Son muy buena gente y los encanto! Ellos me han aydado un montón.
Hey @Yaya. Thanks for sharing. I think it's a great idea. Maybe if all of us could share real native content on this platform it would be amazing. I'll try to summarize all the resources I use and try to recommendd youtube videos, movies, or series I've watched.
Hi Bruna, I love the idea of this post! I can recommend "Learn Italian with Lucrezia" for those of you, who also learn Italian. And I'll leave my all time favorite for advanced German learners: "Geschichten aus der Geschichte", a podcast by two historians who shed light on the not so well-known aspects of history (for example the origins of Ramen, Medical history or whimsical stories from the Middle Ages)
For intermediate Russian learners two fantastic resources are: 'Learn Russian with Max' and 'Russian Podcast' with Tatjana Klimova (both of them also have a youtube channel). Both of them speak very clearly and explain most of the words which are not basic, yet it never feels like 'serious' studying. I could listen to them for hours (and, in fact, I have!).
