Doll's clothes
I have a friend who collects dolls. In her job she looks after children and sometimes she takes one of her dolls to work and leaves it there for a while as something else to play with..
As she knows I like to sew, she asked me last week if I could sew clothes for a particular doll. At first I thought, sure, okay, I'll make two or three pieces.
But then I had so much fun making the patterns that I couldn't stop.
A pair of trousers was the first item. But when the pattern worked, I wanted to know what shorts would look like and what adjustments I had to make to sew dungarees.
Then the doll needed a top and a T-shirt and a jacket and a waistcoat and a poncho and a scarf.
Whenever I thought, okay, this is the last piece, I suddenly had a new idea for another pattern and I couldn't help but try that too. Now the doll even has a school bag and a handbag.
I had a lot of fun and it didn't even cost anything, as I had a lot of fabric scraps laying around anyway.
Tomorrow I will clean or cook for a change – well, maybe – unless I get another idea for a new pattern ;))
