皆さん、こんにちは

もう9月1日になりました。数日前に、multilingual book club 02と『幕が上がる』についての最後の記事を投稿したかったのですが、人生には出来事があり、仕事に集中しなければなりませんでした。

先週は、最初の数週間に比べて読むスピードが格段に速くなったことに気づき、今は多読をとても楽しんでいます。すべての単語を理解できなくても、物語の筋を理解するのに問題はなく、2秒ごとに辞書をチェックする必要もありません。このブッククラブのおかげで、最初のハードルを乗り越えることができたと思います。

この本について

この本は、放課後の演劇クラブが全国大会に出場するために奮闘する物語です。典型的なティーンストーリーですが、私はとても楽しめました。(30歳の私にとって、ティーン向けの物語に共感することは必ずしも容易ではありませんが、最終的な目標である言語学習には役立ちます。)

とにかく、この本の中で最も美しい言葉は、次のようなものです。

「ともにすごした時間は短いかもしれない。けど、大事なのは時間の長さではない。どんな時間を共有したかだと思うから。」

I am already excited for the next round of the book club. Originally, I wanted to read Alessandro Baricco’s “Seta” in Japanese, but I already have so many Japanese Literature tor read that I wanted to switch it up. So, the next round will be in French. I am nowhere near as good in French, but maybe this will finally be the tipping point in my year long struggle with the language. (I studied French for years in school and in uni as well and could never figure it out, but I really want to understand and be able to communicate since I have family in Nancy.)

Anyways, hope everyone is just as excited and ready for round three of the multilingual bool club.
