Hi guys,

today’s Journaly entry will be in English since it is easier and faster this way. I hope everyone is doing well and are having fun while reading.

So originally, I wanted to finish the second book (幕が上がる) I had started last Monday within the week but unfortunately life happened, and I did not have enough time or energy to read the whole thing in one week. So basically, I failed my own challenge, but nevertheless I am still proud of myself since I read half of the book. I’ll try and finish it until the end of the month. If I succeed, I’ll have read two books in Japanese within this book club. That is a huge success in my mind at least^^

Yesterday I also received my book order from Japan <3

I am sooo excited about the book I had ordered so I can keep reading even after the book club has ended. So here are the books:

• 白河夜船 (ばなな, 吉本) (新潮文庫)

• 神の子どもたちはみな踊る(春樹, 村上) (新潮文庫)

• 天気の子 (新海 誠) (角川つばさ文庫)

• 竜とそばかすの姫 (細田 守) (角川つばさ文庫)

• 泣きたい私は猫をかぶる (岩佐 まもる) (角川つばさ文庫)

• (図解)大学4年間の経済学が10時間でざっと学べる(井堀 利宏)

The two books I have been reading this month are from Aoi Tori Bunko (青い鳥少年文庫) which seems to be publishing stories written for a younger demographic (elementary students). Through this blog post I got to know the Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko books (角川つばさ文庫) which seem to be written for teenagers but still with the help of Furigana. I decided to try them out and got three famous animated stories in this format (天気の子/ Weathering with you, 竜とそばかすの姫/ Belle and 泣きたい私は猫をかぶる/ A Whisker Away). I am really looking forward to reading those since I have not watched the animes for Weathering with you or Belle. A whisker away has a very cute storyline so even though I had watched it already I really wanted to have the book. (Yes, crazy cat lady over here. I’m not ashamed!)

The other two books are from Haruki Murakami and Banana Yoshimoto which are famous names in the Japanese literature world. I have read Murakami books in English, before but this title (神の子どもたちはみな踊る) seems to be suitable for intermediate language learners (according to Olly Richards) so I will give it a try. Since these books do not contain Furigana it will be a jump in difficulty but I am hoping to get there after reading the Aoi Tori and Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko books.

Last but not least I go the illustrated 大学4年間の経済学が10時間でざっと学べる to brush up my economy knowledge since I am preparing for a test in september. To make things more difficult or interesting (depending on how you look at it) I got the book in Japanese. :D (Who else loves to make their lives harder than it already is, raise your hand.)

That is it for today. The next entry will be in Japanese and about 幕が上がる again, so I hope you will help me with my Japanese once more. Thanks for reading everyone.

Take care and have fun.
