I’m interested in psychology and biology and I'd like to tell you about a case which impressed me.
Have you heard that there is a remarkable device that helps blind people to see a little? It helps even people who were blind from birth. The glasses have a camera. Electrodes move signals from the camera to a small plate on the tongue. Depending on the light, the signal is more or less strong. But the most amazing thing here is our brain. The part of the brain connected with the tongue begins to process both taste and visual signals. After a while, people can "see" the shapes around them, and later the shapes become more and more clear. And the brain area associated with the tongue expands significantly. In other words, a person can see with his own tongue, and the brain can work like that. What a wonderful thing we have in our heads.
This is so fascinating! Thanks for sharing...I'll have to look into this technology
