Annikki oli jo seitsemänvuotiaana tajunnut, että Markku oli hänen elämänsä rakkaus. Hänen elämässään ei tulisi koskaan olemaan ketään muuta kuin hän. Annikki had already realized at seven that Markku was the love of her life. There wouldn't ever be anybody else in her life but him. Markku would grow as a man she would marry one day. She knew that as surely as she knew that the sun would rise every morning, no matter whether she wanted it or not. The point was the way that Markku had kissed her, as if to say goodbye, as if the memory of the last touch could replace his presence. She hadn't imagined that things would go like that. That's why she got upset.
